True Health Defined
God made human beings perfect, with eternal health and with purpose. However, since the fall of Adam and Eve, we now live in a sinful and diseased world. The good news is that Jesus Christ came to restore what was lost, and we believe he has called you and I TODAY to collaborate with Him in a health reformation movement so that the world may believe in Him. But to collaborate with Christ, we must know the forgotten truths of health found in scripture.

The Truth About Our Health
Even in our fallen, sinful state, God made each one of us for a unique purpose, yet we struggle to live it because our thinking is influenced by the abundant idol worship in our culture. As such, poor lifestyle choices have become the norm, and these negatively impact our health. This in turn causes mental and physical limitations affecting our ability to living out our God-given purpose.
Things Get in The Way
The widespread availability of quick-fixes and shortcuts to better health is a big problem as it makes us believe that avoiding the pain of hard work is wise. As a result, we falsely believe we are in control and think we can somehow forego the consequences of our poor choices. This thinking doesn’t just affect our physical health, it also negatively affects our relationships and even our finances. This illusion of a consequence-free life causes anxiety and stress, which further complicates the issue. But more importantly, this kind of thinking keeps us from trusting in the Lord.
Combining Faith and Health
We created True Health Defined to share what we believe is the light of truth given to us “for such a time as this”. In other words, in a post-pandemic world, we believe there is no better time to share the Biblical truths about health than now. From our own experience with various life challenges, we have come to believe that experiencing true health requires we submit our ways to the Lord and resist evil in ALL aspects of daily life. Prov. 3:5-8

About True Health Defined
We believe the truth about health is this: only God has the power to heal and restore us; whole plant nutrition and natural healing agents are his choice for us; and a violation of this Law of Health has dire consequences.
We believe God created our body for eternal health, and as such believe health is a Gift, is Absolute, and is a Mystery.
We Believe...
We believe God created our body for eternal health, and as such believe health is a Gift, is Absolute, and is a Mystery.
We believe the time has come for restaurants to lead the way in educating people on what is truly healthy for our bodies, not just offer flavor sensations.
We believe it is our duty to help those with a thirst for wellness to experience the power of plant nutrition as God intended.
We believe food should be nutrient dense, not calorie dense, at every meal!
We believe God gave us the animals to improve our burdened life, not to exploit them for financial gain.
We believe in working together as a community, with love and compassion toward each other, but with the courage to do what is right to preserve our natural environment and help the planet.
We believe that to change the status quo, we must do things differently without compromising on the principles on which these truths stand.
Mission Statement
We became interested in health and wellness out of personal pain from seeing loved ones suffer or die of preventable diseases. We believe God created our body to heal itself, and believe that adopting a whole-food, plant-based diet, along with other lifestyle reforms, yields the best chances for optimal health.
However, we see forces at work keeping this truth from being readily available to all. Ironically, this truth has become even more relevant following the coronavirus pandemic. We never thought we’d see the day when there would be censorship of the benefits of natural remedies, such as treating COVID-19 with vitamin C, vitamin D, zinc, etc. As such, we feel an even greater urgency to share our knowledge of wellness with you.
Our History
In 2010, we began our fitness business offering personal training and boot camps in the park. Little by little our classes grew, and we saw the need to incorporate health seminars, which we presented at local churches. In 2013, Sam became certified to run the world-renowned disease prevention program known as C.H.I.P. (Complete Health Improvement Program). The following year, Sam developed a highly successful weight-loss program known as the 20/40 Project and touted as “the hardest thing you’ll ever do”, and Ashleigh created a bi-annual fitness event which we called the “Dirt Head Dry Tri”.
Then, in 2017, God opened the door for us to take over a local juice bar and vegan café, known as The Living Root Cellar. Believing that this would afford a better platform from which to educate our community in wellness principles, we invested our time heavily into running the café…
True Health is a Mystery, Trust in the Lord!
Our hope is that we can help you live healthier, well-balanced lives so that you can be a greater impact for our Father’s Kingdom. Time is of the essence.
